Anthony Minstein – Solutions Architect Principal

As one of the principal partners at Technology Advance Partners, Anthony Minstein is responsible for project delivery and Client engagement ensuring projects meet expectations on scope, schedule, budget and performance.

Minstein has more than 35 years of experience managing and directing IT and commercial software delivery organizations successfully implementing numerous projects encompassing commercial software to large enterprise programs. He also has depth of experience transforming delivery organizations from ad hoc and chaotic to mature, process-orientation. He has more than 25 years of experience in university education as an instructor in industrial engineering and business and management for California State University Dominguez Hills, University of San Francisco and University of California Berkeley.

Minstein’s IT career began in the aerospace industry as a systems engineer for Control Data Corporation building statistical process control systems. In the 1980s, he implemented the first local area networks in Los Angeles and strategically led organizations in the use of personal computing and distributed LAN systems for business processing. Minstein was also part of the team that introduced the Infinity automobile to the U.S. and served as the principal architect and designer of the nation’s first computer integrated automobile dealership.

In the 1990s, Minstein developed products for the healthcare industry and led quality assurance and usability engineering teams in commercial software companies as well as instituting Project Management Offices for Ecommerce B2B and B2C companies in San Francisco, California, and Louisville, Kentucky. He later became the principal architect behind enterprise quality assurance for WellPoint and Anthem BC/BS.

Minstein is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and also holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), SCRUM Master (CSM) and in Lean Six Sigma (CMPE).

Minstein is a published author in quality improvement and continues to teach Business and Management at the University of California Berkeley.

William Wolf – Managing Director and Principal

William Wolf (Bill) is the Managing Director and Principal for Technology Advance Partners, a consulting company based in Minneapolis, Throughout his 40 year career  in technology management, consulting and software sales, Bill has worked extensively in in the financial services, health care, retail, property/casualty insurance and distribution industries.

Bill most recently served as the Director of Data Management for a Midwest based consulting firm, where, over a period of ten years, he helped grow annual revenue from 10 million to 65 million dollars. Establishing and growing The Data Management Division from 0 to >15 million. Growth was accomplished through a combination of projects dealing with data architecture, design and implementation of a variety of data integration and Information Life-Cycle Management strategic solutions. Bill’s approach to Information Governance, Integration, Security and Data Optimization defined the go to market methodology resulting in the achievement of IBM Premier level business partnership. Bill and his team’s reputation and demonstrated prowess resulted in the IBM sales force relying on the team for help with software and service sales across North America.

Throughout Bill’s career, he has functioned as the architectural lead on statistical analytics and modeling projects, which go by many names, with a common trait: lots of data demanding correlation to achieve business results. With the ever expanding types of information, what is now called “Big Data”, it becomes more crucial for companies to perform correlation to drive business decisions. Bill’s latest venture is the leadership role for a group of technical professionals at Technology Advance Partners, based in Minneapolis.  Members of this new team have many years of experience in the information technology world, across a variety of roles, including architects, software experts, project management, project delivery and quality assurance.

Technology Advance Partners (TAP) strives to be tool agnostic, but also does have deep skills in many vendor specific toolsets. The primary focus is solving business problems using technology across  health care payer and provider, financial services, retail, property/casualty insurance and distribution industries. Consultants are based across North America, ready and willing to work on-site or remotely concentrating on data specific opportunity’s in the areas of Data Governance, Data Security, Master Data Management, Testing/Test data management, Data Archiving, Application Retirement and Data Analytics.

Andy Sorrell – Data Integration Principal

Andy first started working with computers at an early age, playing on the IBM 360 at his father’s office. By the time he began his major in Computer Science at Texas A&M he was already proficient in several programming languages and had built his first computer. While at A&M he helped provide deployment and operational training for several departments on their new Prime computer, the first system ever designed to use virtual memory.  Prime Computer Systems hired Andy immediately out of college and he became one of their senior instructors, delivering training on operating systems, networking, programming and administration.

Andy then began working with DataStage, one of the first parallel processing ETL GUI’s. DataStage has become the centerpiece of the IBM Information Server suite of products, which now provide integrated Data Quality, Information Governance, and Metadata Management. As a result of his long experience with Data Stage and IBM Information Server, Andy is recognized by IBM as an IBM InfoSphere Champion for Analytics.

Andy specializes in providing training, architectural design and implementation services for IBM Information Server and is frequently invited to give presentations on advanced topics at IBM conferences and User Groups.

Andy is the Technology Advance Partners principal leading our Data Integration practice. In his spare time he is also the content editor and a major contributor to “The DSXChange” technical forum for Information Server.
